Greer Days is a two-day event in one of Arizona’s most beautiful areas, kicking off a summer of great hiking, fishing and camping in the White Mountains. This celebration includes a community parade, arts and crafts vendors from Kingman to Tucson, book and bake sales, children's games, an ice-cream social, horseshoe tournament and rubber-duck races.
About 750 people attended Greer Days last year. Many visitors are from the Valley and Tucson as well as the neighboring communities of Show Low, Pinetop-Lakeside, Eagar, Springerville and Alpine.
Greer Days dates to 1979, when Greer celebrated its 100th anniversary with three days of events, including a parade, fishing derby, wagon rides, barn dance and barbecue.
At 8,500 feet, Greer is where you go to enjoy cool mountain air and scenery that Arizona Highways calls 'Arizona's version of Eden.’ There are no stoplights, gas stations or fast food restaurants in Greer, and Main Street ends in a national forest. With an average summer temperature of 75 degrees, Greer offers pristine streams and lakes, bountiful wildlife, and hiking trails for the novice and expert. The Little Colorado River also runs right through this beautiful valley.
